KALEID

Kaleid Dance Collective is an interdisciplinary artistic platform for creative experiments and exhibitions under the Artistic Direction of Rush Johnston. While Kaleid is modeled after a traditional dance company format, it also extends into visual and performing arts as a community-based platform. Accessibility is a core tenant of Kaleid, making dance and its cross-disciplines available at little to no cost, paired with educational elements, and available outside of traditional venues and institutions. Through its multitude of media, Kaleid remains socially engaged making work around perception and identity, as well as inviting viewers to question proposed truths of self and social misunderstanding. Based in New York City, Kaleid self-produces shows and installations while also performing in arts festivals across the US and internationally. While only a budding collective, Kaleid hopes to continue their momentum and build a community of interdisciplinary arts across the Bronx and into Manhattan.
